Director-General of Cooperatives at the Ministry of Agriculture
Mrs. Abou Zeid earned a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and a diploma in Ingenieur Agricole from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1989.
In 1998, she was appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, and then as President of The Green Plan (Ministry of Agriculture) in 2000, which aims at establishing agricultural infrastructure, namely hill lakes, agricultural roads, and land reclamation for farmers.
She represented Lebanon in different international forums (FAO-Rome, IFAD, etc.) and was appointed Governor of Lebanon to the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), from 2005 to 2017.
She managed several agricultural development programs funded by the World Bank, IFAD, and many other international organizations. In 2014, she was appointed as Director-General of Cooperatives at the Ministry of Agriculture, and still holds this position to date.
